![]() When I'm all done if I find that the shaft shaft area is also leaking then I'm going to be in for swapping the trans or splitting it open and attempting to replace the seal myself. I just hope all the dirt and grime attracted by the leaking Gear Oil hasn't destroyed the internal seal underneath the shift shaft boot. ![]() I'm cleaning up the entire area and then installing the new right side output seal and a rebuilt CV axle since mine was a bit rough and they are only $53 after the core charge rebate (I love how cheap the parts are for these cars). When I drained the trans it only had 1.25 quarts in it. I had a terrible leak in the passenger side CV axle output seal and it leaked down into the boot area at the bottom of the trans attracting all kinds of dirt and destroying the boot. Each little section of the boot's original ribs is torn. Sorry I should have told you that the original boot is all separated in 3 pieces. ![]()
